Did we miss your collection?
We do our very best to pick up all collections. If your bin was not collected and you were left a sorry tag it could be for one of the reasons below. If you receive a fortnightly refuse and recycling collection you can

Household refuse: Wheelie Bins
| Reasons why your wheeled refuse bin might not be emptied |

| Too heavy for crew to move or mechanical vehicle hoist to lift |
Please remove some material from your bin before calling for a recollection. Extra material can be taken to your nearest Recycling Centre or kept until our next collection. |
| Wet material was stuck to the inside of your bins |
The crew emptied your bin however residual wet material was stuck inside your bin. |
| Over full and your lid was not closed |
Excess material cannot be collected. All materials should be placed within the container provided. |
Recycling Collections: Black Box
| Reasons why Black Box contents might not be emptied |

| Broken Glass, Crockery, Drinking Glasses, light bulbs, Pyrex, Spectacles, Window Glass Panes |
All of these glass materials melt at different temperatures to glass bottles and jars and causing contamination to the final melted glass. |
| Margarine Tubs, Plastic bags, Plastic food trays, Polystyrene packaging, Yoghurt pots |
Aberdeen City Council do not collect these materials for recycling. |
| Crisp packets, Food and Drink cartons e.g. Tetra Packs |
These materials cannot be recycled. |
Recycling Collections: White Bag
| Reasons why White Bag contents might not be emptied |

| Large Packaging, Wallpaper |
Large Packaging does not fit into the side-loading vehicle and can cause the collection arm to jam. It should be torn to fit within your White bag or taken to your nearest recycling centre or point. Used Wallpaper cannot be recycled, unused wallpaper can be donated to your local charity. |
| Food and Drink cartons e.g. Tetra Packs |
These materials cannot be recycled |
| Plastic Bags, Plastic Wrapping, Polystyrene Packaging |
These materials cannot be recycled. |
Garden Waste Collections: Brown Bin
| Reasons why your Brown Bin contents might not be collected |

| General Waste, Plastic of any kind |
These materials cannot be composted |
| Earth, Hardcore, Rubble, Stones or Turf |
These materials cannot be composted |
| Large Branches, Trees |
These materials are too large to be composted |
| Chemicals, Liquids |
These materials cannot be composted |
