Assisted Collections
If you are not able to put your recycling and waste collections to the kerbside we can help you. Assisted collections are available for residents and can be arranged by calling the Customer Contact Centre on 08456 08 09 19 or by emailing wasteaware@aberdeencity.gov.uk.
Assistance with recycling and refuse collections can include:
Kerbside Recycling
The kerbside collection of materials for recycling is available to many households across the city. This service enables residents to recycle food and drink cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, foil, foil trays and aerosols in the black box and paper and cardboard in the white bag.
If your household receives a kerbside collection we offer help with:
- An assisted collection (taking your box and bag from an agreed location outside the property for emptying and replacing it).
Household Refuse - Black Wheeled Bin
We are able to help with either:
- A smaller bin, or
- An assisted collection - We can collect your bin from and return it to an agreed location outside your property (e.g.: your doorstep).
Food and Garden Waste - Brown Wheeled Bin
A fortnightly kerbside collection of garden waste available to households across the city all year round.
Residents are able to recycle flowers, plants, weeds, grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, leaves, small branches, bark and twigs using the brown wheeled bin. If you receive a garden waste collection service. We offer help with either:
- A smaller bin, or
- An assisted collection - We can collect your bin from and return it to an agreed location outside your property (e.g.: your doorstep).
Food waste should be collected in the compostable bags as directed and added to the brown bin before the day of collection as usual.
