Book a tour of Grove Household Waste Recycling Centre
We offer tours of Grove Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Hazlehead. This is Aberdeen's newest and biggest HWRC, so it's the ideal place to go behind the scenes on the recycling journey. Led by one of our Recycling Officers, the tour will provide an insight into the every stage of the recycling process.
The tour is suitable for both primary and secondary school pupils and we can take groups of up to 20. Tours will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Please contact us to book a tour or find out more.
TechKnow (Technology for Knowledge) is an initiative aimed at improving re-use and recycling of electrical equipment. It provides free re-use and recycling workshops and collection schemes for all Aberdeen schools. TechKnow is a partnership project between Aberdeen City Council, Enscape and Re-Tek with funding from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.
TechKnow provides Aberdeen City Council schools with free workshops and downloadable lesson plans which are linked to the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence's Science and Technologies Frameworks. Lesson plans on the reuse of electrical and electronic equipment are available for P1-P3, P4-P7 and S1-S2. You can download these from GLOW or from the TechKnow website.
