Links Road

Closed from a point south of Urquhart Road to the Esplanade. There will be no access on to Links Road from Urquhart Road.

Once work at the Links Road/Urquhart Road junction is completed, the southern extent of the closure will move to north of the Links Road/Urquhart Road junction. Links Road is then anticipated to be closed between Urquhart Road and the Esplanade There will also be a temporary prohibition of waiting at any time on the above lengths of road.

Until 26 April 2012.

 

For up to four weeks after the end of the previous restrictions.

Access to Transition Extreme will be maintained from the Beach Boulevard end of Links Road. Access to the car park at the rear of the Beach Ballroom will be maintained from the Esplanade.

Belmont Street, Little Belmont Street and Gaelic Lane 

Closed at regular intervals throughout 2012. The closures are for public safety during the Country Fair & Street Market between the hours of 0600 – 1900 on the last Saturday of each month between now and June.

To facilitate the closure of Belmont Street effectively and for safety reasons it will be necessary to include the closure of Little Belmont Street and Gaelic Lane from Back Wynd to Belmont Street.

Access will only be permitted into Little Belmont Street for badge holders and deliveries.
 Nelson Street

Closed to through traffic between its junction with West North Street and 41 Nelson Street.

Temporary restriction on parking on both sides between 53 and 41 Nelson Street.

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION of the existing one-way restriction between 53 and 41 Nelson Street for vehicles delivering materials to the adjacent construction works.

The measures are necessary to protect public safety during materials delivery to construction works.

21 March, 2012 for six months between the hours of 10.00am and 12 noon. An alternative route shall be available via West North Street, King Street, Nelson Street.
Mile-End Lane

Closed 5 metres either side of number 23 Mile-End Lane. Access to properties will be maintained but no through traffic will be possible.

The restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety during water connection works.

Monday 30 April, 2012, for up to three weeks  
Kirking of the Council Procession The route of the procession will be from the Town House to St. Nicholas Kirk via Union Street, and vice versa. All going well the procession should take no longer than ten minutes, with little disruption to traffic. This will be controlled by the police under their powers. 20 May 2012 for two windows of 30 minutes from 10:40am and 12 noon.
