Road Closures in the City Centre

Street Description Start and End Date Diversion
Mealmarket Street

Closed between its junction with West North Street and the access road at Mealmarket Exchange. Access to properties will be maintained from King Street to left turning vehicles only. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during heating duct works.
In addition to the above, WEST NORTH STREET will have lane closures in both directions on the dual carriageway from the junction of King Street to Mounthooly Roundabout. (This incorporates two types of works: the above activity and also the upgrade of the traffic signals at the junction of St.Clair Street / West North St.)

 Friday the 10th of February, 2012, until Friday the 17th of February, 2012.
School Road Closed between its junctions with Seaton Avenue and Seaton Crescent. Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during works on behalf of Scottish Water.

Sunday the 26th of February, 2012

An alternative route is available via King Street, Regent Walk and Golf Road.

The alternative route for HGVs is via King Street, Seaforth Road and Park Road.
St Catherine's Wynd

Closed between its junctions with Netherkirkgate and Union Street, to all traffic except vehicles associated with the adjacent building refurbishment works. The existing one-way restriction on St Catherine's Wynd will be lifted, but only for vehicles associated with the abovementioned building refurbishment. The measures are necessary to protect public safety during these works.

 until Sunday the 26th of February, 2012  The alternative route during the closure will be via Flourmill Lane, Upperkirkgate and Broad Street.
Constitution Street Closed between its junction with Park Street and its junction with Links Road.  Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. There will also be a temporary prohibition of waiting at any time on both sides of the full length of Constitution Street.  The no waiting restriction will not be applied for the full length of the road at any one time and will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones. The restrictions in the interests of public safety during heating duct works.

Friday the 20th of January, 2012, until Friday the 16th of March, 2012

An alternative route is available via Park Street, Beach Boulevard and Links Road.

Belmont Street, Little Belmont Street and Gaelic Lane 

Closed at regular intervals throughout 2012. The closures are for public safety during the Country Fair & Street Market between the hours of 0600 – 1900 on the last Saturday of each month between now and June.

To facilitate the closure of Belmont Street effectively and for safety reasons it will be necessary to include the closure of Little Belmont Street and Gaelic Lane from Back Wynd to Belmont Street.

 Access will only be permitted into Little Belmont Street for badge holders and deliveries.
Shiprow Closed from its junction with Shore Brae to its junction with Market Street. Access to properties will be maintained but no through traffic will be possible. The closure is in the interests of public safety during crane lifting works for a new development. 12 December 2011, until 7 March 2012
Barron Street

Closed between its junctions with Great Northern Road and Sandilands Drive. There will also be a temporary prohibition of waiting at any time on the same length of road. The measures are necessary to protect public safety during carriageway resurfacing works.

5 March, 2012, until 11 March, 2012

Alternative routes will be available via Great Northern Road, St Machar Drive Roundabout, Sandilands Drive (Northbound vehicles only) or Sandilands Drive, Ferrier Crescent, Marquis Road and Western Road.  

 

 

 

 

 
Bon Accord Crescent Lane Closed between its junctions with Oldmill Road and Craibstone Lane. Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during works on behalf of British Telecom. 6 February, 2012, until 19 February, 2012

An alternative route is available via Oldmill Road, Bon-Accord Street and Craibstone Lane.

 
Littlejohn Street There will be a temporary prohibition of right turns into West North Street from Friday . The measure is necessary to protect public safety during heating duct works. 10th of February, 2012, until Friday the 17th of February, 2012 The diversion route is a left turn into West North Street, Mounthooly Roundabout, West North Street.
