Work Placements for You! Aberdeen City Council
What is it?
An opportunity for you to experience working on a particular job, develop and practise a range of skills, become more confident in your abilities and to think in a more informed way about your future and work decisions.
How does it work?
- You can discuss your needs on a one to one basis with a Training and Development Officer.
- The Training and Development Officer will advise you on various work placements as they have access to employers who are willing to provide realistic work experience.
- Help with any training that will assist you to carry out tasks in your work placement. Potential options for funding can also be discussed and arranged.
- Help with Job Search to look for suitable employment.
- There is no cost for this service.
Types of work placements
- We work with a wide range of employers in the city who provide placement opportunities.
- Work placements can also be arranged on an individual basis and negotiated directly with the employer.
- Each placement is Health and Safety checked by a qualified staff member prior to use.
- For general information about arranging a work placement, contact Margaret Marshall.
