Average residential property prices

The average price of a residential property in Aberdeen City decreased from 220,751 in 2015 to 203,483 in 2016 - a drop of 7.8% in the year.  The volume of sales in the City also fell, dropping from 4,097 in 2015 to 3,970 in 2016. This represents a drop of 19.1% in the number of houses sold.

Household tenure, Census 2011

At the time of the 2011 Census, in Aberdeen City, 57% of households were owner occupied - lower than the Scottish average of 62%. In contrast, Aberdeen City had a higher proportion of private rented households than Scotland (17% compared to 12%).
