Solo Piping Event

Aberdeen Highland Games 2011

Register from 9am at the Games Field with the Games Piping Convenor.

Event Order

Piping events commence at 10am within the Games arena, unless otherwise advised at time of registration.

Please note times may vary according to programme requirements on the day, if unsure of timings please contact the games office on the event day.

Event number

  • 1 - Highland Bagpipes music Piobairaechd (18 years and over). Competitor must submit list of three tunes). Prize monies £55, £40, £30, £20, £16.
  • 5 - Juvenile Piping - Marches (Under 18 years). Competitors own selection once through. Prize monies £25, £20, £12, £9, £6.
  • 6 - Juvenile Piping - Strathspey and Reel (under 18 years). Competitors own selection once through. Prize monies £25, £20, £12, £9, £6.
  • 7 - Juvenile Piping - Jig (under 18 years). Competitors own selection once through. Prize monies £25, £20, £12, £9, £6.
  • 8 - Highland Bagpipes Music - Marches (18 years and over). Competitor must submit list of three tunes. Prize monies £45, £35, £25, £15, £10
  • 9 - Highland Bagpipes Music - Strathspey and Reel (18 years and over). Competitor must submit list of three tunes. Prize monies £45, £35, £25, £15, £10
  • 10 -Highland Bagpipes Music - Jig (18 years and over). Competitor must submit list of three tunes. Prize monies £45, £35, £25, £15, £10

Rules

  • 1. Competitors must pay entry fees to the Games Field, entries close 30 minutes before the event is due to take place.
  • 2. At all competitions there must be more competitors than prizes, otherwise part of the prizes will be withdrawn.
  • 3. All competitors must appear in Highland dress.
  • 4. All competitors when not competing must retire to a place appointed for them and, if refusing to do so when ordered, will forfeit the right to further competition.
  • 5. In all questions of dispute, the decision of the judge will be final.
  • 6. The Organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, injury or damage, which the performer or public might sustain while attending the Aberdeen Highland Games.
