British Armed Forces and Veterans Weekend 2009
This took place at 11am on Saturday 27th of June 2009, Albyn Place along Union Street to Castlegate.
It was estimated that there was 10'000 to 15'000 spectators watching 1500 serving,cadet and veteran forces personnel marching down Union Street. There was also a military fly past and vintage military vehicles.
All paraders that attended, got together at the Queens Links, Beach Boulevard. Where light entertainment was laid on with a brief badge ceremony and recognition awards.
The Sunday was an Airborne Scotland event at the Beach Boulevard. There was the beating of the retreat, full military band public performance, presentations, and a parachute jump scheduled (cancelled due to low cloud).
A sing a long event was provided for the Sunday evenings entertainment.
