Children and Young People's Audit 2012-2013

The Children & Young People’s Audit 2012/13 is the eighth Audit produced since 1999. It was commissioned by the Integrated Children’s Services Partnership (ICSP) and funded by the Aberdeen City Council Families and Vulnerable Learners Team. The purpose of the Audit is to ensure that the Integrated Children’s Services Partnership has the information necessary to plan and deliver services for children, young people and their families.

The Audit examines the key characteristics of Aberdeen’s 0-25 year population and their service requirements. It provides a planning tool for the Integrated Children’s Services Partnership and will help to inform policy development. It does not measure performance against local improvement objectives as these are addressed in the Integrated Children’s Services Plan and the Single Outcome Agreement. Most of the data in the Audit is presented for Aberdeen together with equivalent data for Scotland and other main cities. Where education data is shown and where appropriate, the Council’s five comparator authorities - Argyll & Bute, Dundee, Edinburgh, Renfrewshire and South Ayrshire have been used. In some thematic areas the information is presented at neighbourhood level.

It is a developing document. Depending on the views of users, subsequent up-dates are likely to cover areas not included in this edition.
