Recycling Points

There are 46 Recycling Points situated across Aberdeen City for you to recycle your waste.

Recycling Points

In addition to the Recycling Centres, Aberdeen City Council has a network of local Recycling Points. Most of these sites have banks for the collection of glass bottles and jars and paper and cardboard. Others sites also have banks for food and drinks cans, plastic bottles as well as textiles.

When you are using the Recycling Points:

  • It is important that you place your materials for recycling in the correct container. If you have blue coloured glass bottles, use the green glass bank.
  • Don't put pyrex glass, window panes, drinking glasses, spectacles or ceramics in the glass banks. These cannot be recycled.
  • Please be courteous to nearby residents and try to use the Recycling Points between 8am and 8pm only.
  • Keep the Recycling Centres and Points tidy for other users. Don't leave litter, cardboard boxes or carrier bags at the sites.
  • Try to combine trips to the Recycling Points with other journeys - perhaps to the supermarket, or on your way to work. If the banks are full, please call us on 0845 608 0 919.


New Recycling Points

If you have a site in your local neighbourhood that you think would be suitable for a neighbourhood recycling point, please contact The Waste Team on 08456 080919 or e-mail the Waste Aware Team. wasteaware@aberdeencity.gov.uk

Remember that a suitable site must have adequate access for both the general public, and our large collection vehicle (i.e. no height or width restrictions). They must also be sited where they are not likely to cause a nuisance to neighbouring properties.
