Local Transport Strategy
Introduction
In 2008 Aberdeen City Council's Local Transport Strategy (2008-2012) was approved outlining the policies and interventions the Council would adopt to guide the planning and improvement of the local transport network over the next five years. Our vision is to develop:
| "A sustainable transport system that is fit for the 21st Century, accessible to all, supports a vibrant economy and minimises the impact on our environment" |
The LTS includes 5 high level aims, as follows:
| 1 | Support and contribute to a thriving economy for Aberdeen City and its region |
| 2 | Ensure a safe and secure transport system |
| 3 | Minimise the environmental impact of transport on our community and the wider world |
| 4 | Ensure that the transport system is integrated and accessible to all |
| 5 | Ensure that our transport policies integrate with and support sustainable development, health and social inclusion polices |

A series of more detailed objectives, linked to specific targets sit beneath these aims. The development of the LTS has also been supported by a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and an Equalities Impact Assessment (EQIA), which are available in the Downloadable Forms section on the right.
CDs containing all the LTS documents are also available from Council offices and from the address below.
