Doors Open Days is Scotland's largest free annual architectural event. It is co-ordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust and is part of European Heritage Days along side Scottish Archaeology Month, co-ordinated by Archaeology Scotland. Both are supported by Historic Environment Scotland.

Doors Open Days is celebrated in September throughout Scotland as part of the Council of Europe European Heritage Days. This joint initiative between the Council of Europe and the European Commission aims to give people a greater understanding of each other through sharing and exploring cultural heritage. The event aims to encourage everyone to appreciate and help to preserve their built heritage.

The Scottish Civic Trust is the national co-ordinator for Doors Open Day across Scotland.
