On Street Paper and Cardboard Recycling Bins
Aberdeen City Council offer on-street paper and cardboard recycling to a number of areas of the city that do not have access to kerbside recycling service. Select the links below to see the location of the of these facilities:
Some areas of the city, also provided with on-street bins, are not currently suitable for the on-street paper and cardboard recycling. This is because the quantity and density of on-street bins would prevent further facilities being added. Households with on-street bins for general refuse, who have already been offered the kerbside recycling service, will not receive on-street paper bins.
Some of the local on-street refuse bins will be changed to silver bins with blue lids to collect waste paper and cardboard for recycling.
The banks have a padlock on the main lid to reduce the amount of contamination however the blue lid is fitted with an 'easy access flap' that allows residents to recycle paper and flattened cardboard. This service is designed to help residents with on-street bins recycle some of their household waste.
We need to reduce the amount of waste that we all produce and ultimately throw away. If we all try and reduce our waste, and recycle where possible it will make a big difference to our environment.
This service REPLACES your weekly waste paper collection service - the waste paper collection service will not continue. Please put all your waste paper and cardboard in the on-street paper bins for recycling.
By using your on-street recycling collection service you will help to reduce the amount of waste that you need to throw away in your refuse bins.
If you notice that one of the bins is full, or damaged, please call us on 08456 08 09 19 or 01224 219 281.
You can help us to get it sorted by using the silver bin with the BLUE lid to recycle your PAPER AND CARDBOARD
