Festive Opening Hours and Arrangements 2011/2012
Aberdeen City Council will be closed over the festive period from 24th December 2011 until 4th January 2012. Customers can contact certain Aberdeen City Council Services over this period as follows:
Telephone Enquiries
Housing Repairs
- Emergency housing repairs can be reported throughout the festive period by calling 0845 608 0929. You can also report Housing Repairs online.
Environmental Services (Including Roads and Street Lighting)
- Waste collection enquiries, street cleansing enquiries, emergency environmental health enquiries and emergency roads and street lighting faults can be reported throughout the festive period by calling 0845 608 0919.
Social Work (Out of Hours Service)
- The Social Work out of Hours Service will be available to deal with emergencies only. Please call 01224 693936.
Homecare Service
- The Homecare Service can be contacted in an emergency by calling 01224 814814.
Duty Social Work Team
- The Social Work Duty Team will be available from 8.30am to 5pm on 28th and 29th December. Please call 01224 522055.
Registrars
- The Registrar's of Births, Deaths and Marriages will be open as normal from 8.30am to 5pm on the 28th and 29th of December. Restricted opening hours of 9am to 12 pm apply on the 27th and 30th of December and 3rd of January. Please call 01224 522616 during the opening hours. Bereavement Services (Burials and Cremations)
Bereavement Services can be contacted on 01224 522485 during the festive period as follows:
- 27th December 2011 9am to 4.30pm
- 28th December 2011 8.30am to 5pm
- 29th December 2011 8.30am to 5pm
- 30th December 2011 9am to 12pm
- 3rd January 2012 - 9am to 4.30pm
Council Tax and Benefits
- Council Tax and Benefit enquiries can be made by calling 0845 608 0921 from 8.30am to 5pm on 28th and 29th December 2011. All council tax information can be found on the Council Tax and Benefits.
Payment Line: The automated telephone helpline will be available 24 hours a day. Customers can use this service to make a payment for Council Tax, Housing Rents, Invoices, Penalty Charge Notices and Housing Benefit Overpayments. You can also pay Council Tax online.
Non Housing Property Repairs
- Emergency property repairs (non housing) can be reported throughout the festive period by calling 01224 693350.
Homelessness
- An out of hours emergency service will be in operation throughout the festive period. Please contact 01224 693350. Homelessness: help and advice.
Anti-Social Behaviour
- The Antisocial Behaviour Investigation Team (ASBIT) telephone helpline 08456 066548 will close at 5pm on 24th December 2011 and will reopen at 5pm on 27th December 2011 until 5pm on 30th December 2011. The Service will reopen as normal on 5th January 2012.
Face to Face Enquiries
Customer Service Centre
The Customer Service Centre will close at 5pm on Friday 23rd December 2011 but will be unable to take any cash payments from 2pm. Credit/Debit card and cheque payments will still be accepted until 5pm. The Customer Service Centre will reopen with a limited service as follows:
- Wednesday 28th December 2011 8.30am to 5pm
- Thursday 29th December 2011 8.30am to 5pm
During these opening hours, Bereavement Services, the Duty Social Work Team and the Registrars will be delivering a normal Service. No other Services will be available.
The Registrars and Bereavement Services will also be available as follows:
- Tuesday 27th December 2011 9am to 12pm
- Friday 30th December 2011 9am to 12pm
- Tuesday 3rd January 2012 9am to 12pm
In addition, Bereavement Services will be available by appointment only from 12pm to 4.30pm on Tuesday 27th December and Tuesday 3rd January 2012. Please call 01224 522485 to make an appointment.
The Customer Service Centre will reopen with a full service as normal on Wednesday 4th January 2012 at 8.30am.
Customer Access Points
- On Friday 23rd December 2011 the cash office will close at 2.00pm and the Customer Access Point will close at 5pm. The Access Point will re-open from 9am on Wednesday 4h January 2012.
- On Friday 23rd December the cash office will close at 4.00pm and the Customer Access Point will close at 5pm. Credit/Debit card and cheque payments will still be accepted until 4.30pm. The Access Point will re-open from 8.30am on Wednesday 4h January 2012.
Kincorth Customer Access Point
The Customer Access Point will close at 5pm on Friday 23rd December 2011 but will be unable to take payments from 4.30pm. It will reopen (but without payment facilities) as follows:
- Saturday 24th December 2011 10am to 1pm
- Wednesday 28th December 2011 9am to 5pm
- Thursday 29th December 2011 9am to 5pm
The Kincorth Customer Access Point will then close for the remainder of the festive period, re-opening as normal on Wednesday 4th January 2012 at 9am.
