Fixed Term One Year with funding for three years until March 2017

Langstane Housing Association is looking for a highly motivated, customer focussed individual to join our
busy Customer Services Team as a Housing Outreach Worker as part of an on going project.

Project Information

The project aims to contribute to the quality of life for people from minority ethnic communities, migrant
workers and their families by increasing and improving their understanding of options for housing and
other support services, and how to access them.

The position is based in Aberdeen, however the successful candidate will be expected to attend meetings
and liaise closely with relevant groups and partners as required, throughout the City and cover the
Aberdeenshire area. There will be a requirement to travel in this role and therefore a full driving licence is
essential.

More specifically duties will involve:

  • Responsibility for informing minority ethnic communities of what their housing options are and
    how to access them, you will provide a front line service offering advice, information and practical
    help to encourage the uptake of housing services by project clients


To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to cooperate
with colleagues and external contacts effectively. You will have a sound understanding of social housing
and equality and diversity issues. You will be computer literate and preferably, have experience of
working directly with minority ethnic communities.
