Is Help Available to Move into My Tenancy?

Support is available through the Tenancy Support Team and the Advice and Resettlement Service. Help may also be available through the Furnished Tenancy Grant Scheme and the Homelessness Section will make, where appropriate, referrals to one of the voluntary agencies funded by the Council. A low cost starter pack which includes a fridge, washing machine, cooker, vacuum cleaner, iron, toaster and a kettle is available through Scottish Hydro Electric in association with Aberdeen City Council. Instant Neighbour Charity (www.instantneighbour.co.uk) provides good quality recycled furniture and household items. The Council and its partners are committed to preventing homelessness and will provide or arrange tenancy support for those who may find it difficult settling into their new home. An assessment of support and resettlement needs begins at application.
