Homelessness - Advice & Assistance
People become homeless for all sorts of reasons, everything from relationship breakdowns to emergency situations like a house fire.
The Homelessness Service can assist those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness but it is not there to meet the ordinary housing aspirations of the general public particularly when other housing options may be quite limited.
If you are at risk of losing your home, can't stay where you are or are worried that you will have to move out soon, we may be able to help you. We can help you find temporary accommodation if you need it and can also arrange for the storage of your furniture and other belongings.
Aberdeen City Council has a legal duty to help people who are homeless or are threatened with homelessness. Call in to the Customer Service Centre at Marischal College or phone 01224 522210 to make an appointment.
Some people are not ready to take on the responsibilities of managing their own tenancy and we can provide supported accommodation to help prepare people for these responsibilities. We can also provide support for people moving into their tenancy. We may also be able to provide assistance with getting furniture for your new home.
