Aberdeen's Highland Games
The event takes place in the Games Field at Hazlehead Park and always on the third Sunday in June (17th June 2012).
Aberdeen's Highland Games celebrated it's 50 year at the 2010, the games are now looking to enhance the event in future years.
The Games are an integral part of the Grampian Games circuit and delivered under the auspices of the Scottish Highland Games Association.
The event opening times are 10.00am to 5.30p.m.

Tickets bought on the day before 12noon
- Adult £6
- Child £3 (17years and under) (under 5years FREE )
- Family (2 Adults & up to 3 Children) £16
Tickets bought on the day after 12noon
- Adult £7 (on tickets bought on the day after 12noon)
- Child £3 (17years and under) (under 5years FREE )
- Family (2 Adults & up to 3 Children) £18
Directions to Hazlehead
For directions to the Highland Games view the Hazlehead Park map.
First Bus also run the no: 14 bus which runs to the Hazlehead area.
Traditional Highland Games
The event delivers a traditional programme of Highland Games including Scottish 725kg Tug-o-war Championship, heavy and light events, track and field events, dancing, pipe bands and solo piping competitions.
Entry to traditional events
- Heavy and Novice Events Programme
- Dancing CompetitionNEW start time 12noon.
- Light Events (90 metres, 400 metres, 800metres, long jump, triple jump).
- Solo Piping Events
- tug-o-war Scottish Championship 725kg
The above events require the participant to register on the day at the area of the games field used by that event. It is advised that you register no later than 1 hour before your event. More information will be available on the day from the Games Office.
Pipe bands
Bands wishing to compete must have pre registered with the RSPBA via the North of Scotland Branch.
Light and Heavy Competitors
All competitors wishing to take part in the running, light field and heavyweight events MUST be registered with the SHGA prior to competing.
Unregistered athletes are not entitled to any cover under the SHGA's Personal Injury Insurance Scheme (which covers all athletes up to 75yrs old). Membership of amateur clubs should be declared on the application form and members must wear club vests.

Family Entertainment
A Family Entertainment programme has been developed to enhance your Games experience through special displays, demonstrations and activities that will take place throughout the day within various areas of the Games venue.
