Welcome to Aberdeen Learning On-line. Here you will find information about all the new on-line learning opportunities we provide across the City.

What is On-line Learning?

On-line learning means using computers - instead of books or teachers - to learn about a subject. You can learn at your own speed and go back at any time to brush up on a subject. The courses are all free of charge.

Aberdeen Learning On-line offers a range of free on-line courses, in partnership with other partners such as Skills Development Scotland and the BBC covering a wide range of topics.

How long do the courses last?

The length of time you’ll take to complete your course is up to you. Some basic courses can be completed in as little as 20 minutes – while others cover more ground and may take a few hours. You can basically take as long as you like.

How does it work?

The courses are accessed through a computer with internet access either:

  • in your local Community Centre,
  • at home on your own PC.

Courses are designed to help you develop your skills and employment prospects or to simply enable you to try out something new.
