Arts Across Learning Festival
Festival aim:
To improve learning and develop creativity through access to high quality arts and cultural activity across the city.
The Arts Across Learning Festival is an annual schools-focused cultural festival and has built a strong reputation since its beginnings in 1999 as the Aberdeen Storytelling and Theatre Festival. It is the biggest project delivered by the Arts Education Team on an annual basis and became the Arts Across Learning Festival in 2010 to align its purpose more clearly with Curriculum for Excellence.
The festival creates opportunities to bring the best available artists and companies for children and young people to Aberdeen. Award winning theatre companies, national organisations and highly regarded artists make up the programme each year.
In addition, the festival works in partnership with venues and cultural resources across the city, placing artists and companies in museums, galleries, libraries and venues to engage with collections and to encourage schools to visit places they might not otherwise access. Future audiences are developed by increasing awareness of venues and organisations that have an extensive cultural and educational offer.
Festival brochures and reports can be downloaded from the links above right, or look out for copies in schools, libraries and arts venues across the City.
