Arts Education Team
The Arts Education Team works to:
- improve learning, develop creativity and recognise achievement through access to high quality experiences and expertise in the arts
- measure and demonstrate the impact of arts education in robust and creative ways
The Team delivers of a range of projects and strategic initiatives for the benefit of all city pupils (aged 3 18) and teachers. Project initiation and management includes securing the significant funds required to make these opportunities available to schools and working in partnership with them and other organisations both locally, nationally and internationally.
The approach is to develop opportunities which might not otherwise be accessible for our children and young people. Projects promote the use of the arts as a mechanism to deliver all curriculum areas, enhance study of the expressive arts and connect schools with the cultural resources of the city.
The arts have a significant role to play in realising the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence. The team actively seek opportunities to work with teachers and artists to explore different models of practice to develop children as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
