Shipping Records

These records relate to the workings of the Aberdeen Outport and District, which covered not only the area immediately off Aberdeen City's coast, but also the creeks of Catterline, Crawton, Dunnottar, Stonehaven, Skateraw, Findon Cove, Newburgh, Slains, Boddam, Peterhead, Rattray Head, Cairnbulg, Fraserburgh, Rosehearty, Banff, Portsoy and Cullen.  The records, which are held in our Town House office, are mainly registers of shipping and sea fishing vessels.  Other material is held at the National Archives of Scotland under reference GB234/CE/87. The records held by Aberdeen City Archives are retained under Charge and Superintendence from the National Archives of Scotland.  Please note that records under 30 years old are closed.
