Latest Additions - Guides to Using Online Resources

User guides are now available for the two new additions to the Online Databases: 

• Oxford English Dictionary User Guide
• Dictionary of National Biography User Guide

 

Aberdeen Local Studies content goes online!   

 Aberdeen Local Studies have a new home for their online collections.  The Silver City Vault contains over 1,000 images of Aberdeen (including many taken by the famous Aberdeen photographer George Washington Wilson) and also contains over 50,000 entries from various sources including Obituaries, Marriages and Lists of Paupers as well as entries from our Periodical Index and Newspaper Index.

If you are trying to trace an Aberdeen ancestor, want to find out more about a specific aspect of the city or would simply like to browse through some of our historic images - why not take a trip to The Silver City Vault and start exploring today....

The Information Service of Aberdeen City Libraries runs free business information workshops designed to illustrate & demonstrate the extensive & valuable range of business information resources accessible through Aberdeen City Libraries.

Want to join the library? - Do it online!

When you complete and submit the Library Membership Form we will record your details and prepare a library card for you.On collection of  your card you will be required to sign a form agreeing to the terms and conditions of library membership and provide one piece of identification with full postal address e.g. driving license, utility bill or bank statement.Your library card will be ready for collection at your selected  Aberdeen library after three working days.

There is no charge to join and the membership card can be used in any of the libraries in Aberdeen City. There is a £2 replacement charge for lost cards with a £1 replacement charge for lost concession cards.
