Council Tax Band Reductions/Relief (incl Disability)
There are various relief's that can apply to your bill depending on the circumstances of the adults living in your home ie. Discount, Exemption, Disability Relief and Water and Sewerage Relief. If you think you may be entitled to any of these relief's, please contact us as soon as possible.
In particular, if your home has been modified to accommodate a disabled person who lives there, it may be possible to reduce your Council Tax charge. You could be charged as if your property has been placed one Band lower than it actually is. A reduction can be given on Band A properties.
Modifications might include widening of doors, installation of ramps and rails, or a second bathroom/kitchen for use by the disabled person. You may also have a room in your property which is specifically reserved for treatment, e.g. Renal dialysis.
