Work on Aberdeens new £28million Sports Village can now be watched via the world wide web.
A webcam is capturing the work as it progresses at the site for the modern, vibrant, facility, which will provide a variety of sports for all.
The Sports Village, which is being constructed on the site of the former Chris Anderson stadium in the Linksfield area of the city, is a joint venture between Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen University, and funded by the two organisations, and Sportscotland.
Contractor Barr, which is carrying out the work, has installed the new webcam at the site, so that City residents and other interested parties can watch the development grow.
Aberdeen City Council has three webcams of its own one positioned on the 14th floor of St Nicholas House, looking over the harbour area, and two located on the historic Town House facing east and west.
The Sports Village webcam is linked into the City Councils webpage at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk
A new website about the Sports Village has been created and is now live online. It can been viewed at www.aberdeensportsvillage.com
The new facility is planned to open to the public in August 2009.
