Multi-cultural photography competition closing date approaches

02/05/08

The Polish shop in Torry, the International Street Market, traditional Scottish musicians, games or customs? How do you see Aberdeen in 2008 as a multi-cultural city?

There is still time to enter Aberdeen Library and Information Service's photography competition to capture ‘Images of Aberdeen – City of Many Cultures’ before the closing date of 10 May.

The competition is being held as part of the programme of events for Adult Learners’ Week (17 – 23 May). The theme this year is ‘Intercultural Dialogue and Creativity’.

Photographs can be of buildings, groups, individuals, activities or events, but they must be on the above theme and relate to Aberdeen.

A selection of the best photographs will be on display in the Central Library, Rosemount Viaduct, throughout Adult Learners’ Week and also on the library web pages.

Prizes, including a first prize of a digital camera, will be awarded for the winning photographs.

Information on how to enter can be found on the Information Services pages of the library website www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/libraries or entry forms can be picked up at the Central Library and at branch libraries throughout the city.
