Overnight bridge closures for repair work

The King George VI Bridge is to be partially closed overnight from Tuesday, 15 July, to allow maintenance work to be carried out.

Expansion joints in the bridge are to be replaced during a programme of work which is expected to take up to four weeks.

The bridge will initially be closed to southbound traffic, but once work on the southbound lane has been completed, the bridge will be closed to northbound traffic.

The King George VI Bridge will be closed from 7pm until 7am daily.

Heavy goods vehicles will be allowed to use the Bridge of Dee as an alternative route across the River Dee during these times.
