Celebrating success at Harlaw Academy

22/06/06

The academic, sporting and community achievements of Harlaw Academy pupils will be celebrated at the school’s annual prizegiving ceremony on Tuesday.

BBC Radio Scotland presenter Edi Stark will be guest speaker at the event, which will be held in the school hall.

Pupils will be presented with a variety of awards recognising academic success, sporting triumphs, citizenship and enterprise work, attendance and punctuality.

The Former Pupils’ Club Award will also be presented to one pupil for their all-round contribution to the life and work of the school.

Pupil Stewart Milne will play the guitar at the start of the evening.

The Harlaw Academy Jazz Band, who recently entertained guests at the Aberdeen City Education (ACE) Awards at the Beach Ballroom, will also provide musical entertainment during the ceremony.

Headteacher John Murray said: “We are looking forward to another evening of positive success stories and a celebration of the achievements and commitment of pupils over the past year.”

The event starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 27.
