All welcome to celebrate St Andrew’s Day

Enjoy all things Scottish next weekend [Saturday, 29 November and Sunday, 30 November] when Aberdeens Union Terrace Gardens come alive with music, dance and childrens workshops in celebration of St Andrews Day.
Funded by the Scottish Government, this is an opportunity for all citizens to celebrate the nations patron saint.
Programme of events:
Saturday, 29 November
10am 12noon Childrens Workshops - Scottish Culture and Tradition (SCaT) will host come and try sessions for children. Youngsters will be shown how to dance, sing, play the whistle and other instruments, culminating in a mini Ceildih at the end of the session to show off their new skills. The sessions are free, although prior booking would be appreciated.
2pm 4pm - St Andrew's Tea Dance - with the Garioch Blend including tea/coffee and biscuits.
7.30pm Midnight - St Andrew's Ceilidh - with celebrated Ceilidh band SHOESTRING. A free plate of stovies is included in the price.
Sunday, 30 November
11am 1pm - Children's Workshops - Scottish Culture and Tradition will host more come and try sessions for youngsters. Children will be shown how to dance, sing, play the whistle and other instruments, culminating with a in a mini Ceildih at the end of the session to showcase their new talents. The session is free but prior booking is advisable.
7pm 10pm - St Andrew's Day Concert - featuring a celebration of Scottish music and dance and hosted by local radio personality, Gordon Bathgate (Waves Radio).
A bar facility will be available at all events except the Children's workshops.
A free raffle for a bag of goodies kindly donated by the Scottish Government will be held at the Tea Dance, Ceilidh and Concert.
