Local Development Plan
An application for planning permission in the Countesswells area was recently considered at Full Council on 8 October 2014, Members were minded to Grant Planning Permission in Principle subject to the signing of a s75 legal agreement.
The planning application includes a residential led mixed use development comprising of;
- 3000 houses;
- a town and neighbourhood centre (including commercial, retail and leisure uses);
- approximately 10 hectares of employment land;
- community facilities;
- open space;
- landscaping; and
- supporting infrastructure including access.
This is the first stage of the 15 year plan for this extensive development. The development was proposed by the Countesswells Consortium which comprises Stewart Milne Homes, Heron Property, and Ian Suttie. A number of more detailed planning applications shall now be submitted on a phased basis to the Council, for detailed consideration and analysis to ensure compliance with the relevant policies of the Aberdeen Local Development Plan, and the approved Countesswells Development Framework and Masterplan, which was formally adopted as Supplementary Guidance in July 2014.
