Reorganisation of Various Schools in Aberdeen Bookings and lettings consultation (CLOSED, ARCHIVE CONSULTATION)

As part of Aberdeen City Council’s continuing programme to improve delivery of education, a period of statutory consultation will be held from Monday 6th October to Friday 28th November 2008 on each of the following proposals:
Please note that these arrangements allow for a consultation period of six weeks in addition to duration of the October School Holidays.

Grandholm Village Proposal

To vary the delineated area (catchment area) of Danestone School including the rezoning of the area known as new Grandholm Village from Braehead School to Danestone School, to take effect from the beginning of session 2009/10. The implication of this proposal is also to vary the catchment area of Oldmachar Academy by re-zoning new Grandholm Village from Bridge of Don Academy to Oldmachar Academy.

Bucksburn, Newhills and Stoneywood Schools Proposals

1: To vary the delineated area (catchment area) in relation to Bucksburn, Newhills and Stoneywood Schools to take effect pending decision on the redevelopment of the Bucksburn and/or Newhills site;
2: To replace Bucksburn and Newhills Schools with a new school (capacity 300).  This consultation will consider all possible Council-owned sites but with the recommendation being the current Newhills campus.

Representations relating to the proposals in Neighbourhood Services (North Area) should be made in writing to the Corporate Director, Neighbourhood Services (North Area), Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Balgownie 1, Conference Way, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, AB23 8AQ and should be returned to arrive no later than 5pm on Monday 1st December 2008.
