Westburn Park is a pleasant spacious park with open grass areas and mature broad lea fed trees, ideal for recreational use.
The Gilcomston Burn cuts through the 10 hectare site and feeds three gently cascading ponds. These ponds provide the ideal setting for a picnic and there are benches and picnic tables for just that. Further down stream is a small managed marsh area.
The well stocked children's play area is very popular with the local community. In addition there is a practice cycle track for children. With miniature roads and road signs this provides a safe and fun environment to learn road safety and skills. For the more adventurous there is a skateboard ramp and a mini concrete skateboard/BMX park.
As well as open grass areas the park boasts a football pitch and kick about area with basket ball hoops. The indoor and out door tennis facilities and the excellent outdoor lawn bowls green are run by Sport Aberdeen
