Bar Watch 24/7
How does it work?
Safer Aberdeen launched Bar Watch 24/7, its latest crime reduction initiative on 15th March 2010 in Ma Cameron's. The aim of the scheme is to maintain the safety of Aberdeen city centre by helping reduce alcohol-related incidents both within and outside licensed premises. Members who sign up to Safer Aberdeen are provided with monthly bulletins containing images, along with names, date of birth and warning markers of known serious and violent offenders. In addition to the bulletins, further relevant information received from Grampian Police, Crimestoppers, Scottish Business Crime Centre and Aberdeen Alcohol & Drug Partnership is shared between the members.
What Bar Watch 24/7 can do for you
"The Safer Aberdeen partnership provides licensed trade venues with support in tackling key issues connected with the trade. The implementation of Safer Aberdeen policies throughout the city in member premises, and the use of the ShopSafe radios are just some of the initiatives that allow licensees and security staff to work in a safer and better informed environment. These benefits in turn are passed on directly to our customers and help provide a safer and more enjoyable late night city centre environment for people to enjoy"
- Mark Donlevy, General Manager of Liquid / Envy Nightclub
