Under Age Sales

Trading Standards Staff are responsible for the enforcement of various pieces of legislation that restrict sales of certain products to those above a certain age.  The sale of tobacco products to those under 18 is a typical example and projects using volunteers to test purchase cigarettes have raised awareness of the problem amongst traders.

The supply of other products such as fireworks, butane gas lighter refills and DVDs/ videos have also been the subject of complaints and action by the Trading Standards Service.
