Property Misdescription

Information issued about properties by solicitors (acting in their role as estate agents), estate agents and property developers must be truthful.

A solicitor, estate agent or developer may commit a criminal offence if he makes a false statement e.g. in an advertisement or a property schedule. The worst instances can result in the preparation of a report for the consideration of the Procurator Fiscal.
