How to Apply
If you wish to rent a garage or parking space you must complete an application form. Application forms are available from the Selections Section, Neighbourhood Services (Central Area). You can call in to see them on the 1st floor of St. Nicholas House, Upperkirkgate entrance, Aberdeen and complete an application form. Alternatively you can telephone the Selections Section on direct dial 01224 523767 or 01224 523751 so that an application can be sent out to you to complete.
You should complete and return the application form to the Selections Section. On the form you should detail where you want the Garage or Parking Space. Depending on your circumstances and where you want the garage or parking space your application will be placed in one of the eleven groups detailed below.
The Groups
GROUP A
Aberdeen City Council tenant in a block/housing development (with specifically designated parking spaces eg Denburn Court, Linksfield Court) with no other space.
GROUP B
Aberdeen City Council tenant living in the area (with no other garage/parking space).
GROUP C
Private Sector applicants living in the area (with no other garage/parking space).
GROUP D
As GROUP A, but already has a garage/parking space.
GROUP E
As GROUP B, but already has a garage/parking space.
GROUP F
As GROUP C, but already has a garage/parking space.
GROUP F(B)
Motorbike owner
GROUP G
Out of area applicant, Aberdeen City Council tenant (with no other garage/parking space).
GROUP H
Out of area applicant, private sector (with no other garage/parking space).
GROUP I
As GROUP G, but already has a garage/parking space.
GROUP J
As GROUP H, but already has a garage/parking space.
GROUP K
Business Rental
How Garages and Parking Spaces are Allocated
Allocations are made from the waiting list with GROUP A having greatest priority through to GROUP K with the lowest. Within groups offers are made to those who have been waiting the longest.
You should note that a garage or parking space cannot be allocated to applicant/partner who does not own a car or to an applicant with a company car which is not used for domestic purposes.
