Details
goodapple homes is the brand name for Council Housing in Aberdeen. goodapple homes manages more than 23,000 Council houses in the City. Each year, around 2,000 households move out of their homes. We need to make sure we allocate these empty properties to new tenants efficiently and effectively.
In some areas of the City, the demand for properties and the number of properties available does not match. We have developed the scheme of allocations to take account of applicants different circumstances and needs so we can allocate homes according to priority. To achieve this, different lists and points categories are used to make sure that every applicants housing circumstances and needs are taken into account.
Full details of the different lists operated by the council are published in a booklet, getting a goodapple home which is available from Council housing offices and the goodapple Accommodation and Advice Service (see below). The criteria, which are applied in assessing applications, are also published in this booklet.
In addition to housing for people with no special requirements, in 59 areas across the City, amenity, sheltered and very sheltered housing are also available, as are properties for people with varying needs. We aim to process all applications within 28 days.
