Rosemount to get recycling information

16/05/08

Residents in Rosemount will have an opportunity to find out about a new on-street recycling service in their area that will commence from 26 May.

The Waste Aware Team will be outlining where on-street bins in Rosemount will be swapped for new paper and cardboard recycling banks. The team will have maps of the changes and be available to provide advice and answer questions about the service during a series of information sessions to be hold in Rosemount Community Centre. Maps of the bins to be swapped are also available on the Aberdeen City Council website at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk

The sessions are to be held on the following dates and times:
Thursday 15 May from 10am to 1pm
Friday 16 May from 1pm to 4pm
Monday 26 May from 10pm to 1pm
Wednesday 28 May 1.30pm to 4pm

Councillor Ron Clark said: “It is important for us as an administration to make recycling as easy as possible for the public. We believe that by providing on-street facilities, residents in Rosemount will have a greater opportunity to take part in improving the environment they live in.”

Residents who are going to be affected by the changes will receive leaflets explaining the service and how it operates, over the next week. The leaflet offers residents the opportunity to receive a free reusable sack for storing and carrying recyclates.
