World Bowls tournament takes place in Aberdeen

The World Bowls Singles Champion of Champions international contest is taking place at at Westburn Park, Westburn Road, Aberdeen.
Matches will be played every day from 9am until 5pm this week The finals will be held on Saturday, 6 September.
This is the first time the championships have been held in the northern hemisphere and Aberdeen is proud to be the first city to host the tournament.
Organised by World Bowls and in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and the Scottish Bowling Association, the tournament will be played by world-class men and women singles champions from 32 countries across the globe and will feature our very own Scottish men and women champions.
Aberdeen City Councils senior events officer Bill Farquhar said: This is a rare chance to see world-class bowling here in Aberdeen so local people should seize the opportunity to watch a fantastic competition unfold up close.
