To celebrate Tanabata, a traditional Japanese summer festival where individuals make a wish, Glover House, the home of the Scottish Samurai will host its very own Japanese celebration on Saturday, 5 July and Sunday, 6 July.
Visitors to the house on Saturday will be invited by the City Councils art development to make a wish and to learn how to play the ancient Japanese game Go.
On Sunday afternoon visitors to the house can try their hand at Japanese calligraphy or enjoy being served Japanese tea in a traditional tea ceremony by a special Japanese hostess.
Jane Kidd, development officer at Glover House said: We hope lots of people will come along and enjoy trying some of the various Japanese activities and crafts on offer this weekend. As well as the various events there will also be the usual tours of the house during the weekend.
The City Councils Whitespace arts development team, volunteers from Aberdeens Japanese community and Aberdeen Go Club are working together to provide the activities.
