Road closures and diversions put in place for demolition work

04/07/08

In the interests of public safety, Berryden Road is to be closed to all northbound traffic, except buses, while the former Printagraph factory in Aberdeen is demolished.

The work at Berryden Business Centre is being carried out as part of the contract for the dualling of Berryden Road. The partial closure will come into force on Monday [7 July] and will last for up to 14 weeks.

Signs will be erected advising southbound traffic to give priority to buses. Bus routes will be maintained at all times.

The diversion routes for Berryden Road are as follows:

  • Northbound traffic - Rosemount Terrace/Westburn Road/Westburn Drive/ Ashgrove Road/Back Hilton Road;
  • Westbound traffic - Westburn Road/Westburn Drive/Ashgrove Road/Back Hilton Road;
  • Eastbound traffic - Hutcheon Street/George Street/Powis Terrace/Belmont Road and signed accordingly.

There is no right turn from Berryden Road onto Hutcheon Street. People wishing to make that manoeuvre should instead carry on along Caroline Place and turn right onto Rosemount Terrace and onto Westburn Road.

There will be no right or left turn from Hutcheon Street onto Berryden Road. There will be no waiting on the east side of Caroline Place from Hutcheon Street to Skene Square.

The restrictions will be reviewed throughout the duration of the work.
