Delays in emptying recycling banks

22/07/08

A technical fault with a specialised vehicle has caused delays in emptying the large coloured recycling banks at some city sites.

Residents are asked to be aware of the situation and not to leave materials around the bins as this can cause further delays when the vehicle is up and running again.

A temporary vehicle is being used the support the service.  It is hoped the service will be back to normal within the next few days.

Smaller metal recycling banks can be used as normal as they are emptied by a different vehicle.  This does not affect the kerbside collection service.

The waste aware team can provide free reusable sacks for recycling materials.  To request a reusable sack please phone 0845 608 0919, email wasteaware@aberdeencity.gov.uk or visit the website, www.aberdeencity.gov.uk
