Workshop on applying for Children in Need grants
01/10/08
A training workshop offering advice to voluntary organisations and community groups about how to apply for grants from the BBCs Children in Need appeal is to be held in Aberdeen later this month [October].
Recent changes have been made to the application process to make it easier and quicker for those applying for funding.
The changes include quicker decision times, introducing a small grants programme in Scotland and on-line applications.
Information on what makes a good application to Children in Need will also be discussed.
The presentation is one of a series that will take place throughout Scotland during October.
The city council is encouraging groups to attend the event, which will take place on Thursday, 23 October from 10am12pm at the Summerhill Centre in Aberdeen.
Council external funding officer Evelyn Currie said: We are very pleased to host this workshop. With the changes recently made to the funding process, the workshop will help people understand the application process.
If you are interested in attending, email joan.stewart@bbc.co.uk stating the date and location of presentation.
