Traffic restrictions put in place for footway work

Temporary traffic restrictions will be put in place in the George Street area later this month while footway renovation work is carried out.
From 26 July, Craigie Street will be closed from the Charlotte Street junction to the George Street junction. George Street will be closed between Spring Garden and St Andrew Street from 6.30pm to 7.30am daily. That section of George Street will be closed to southbound traffic between Spring Garden and St Andrew Street from 7.30am to 6.30pm daily.
There will be no waiting on George Street between Spring Garden and St Andrew Street, though this may be altered at the discretion of the works manager.
There will be no waiting on the north side of Frederick Street, from a point 73metres east of King Street for 20 metres. There will be no waiting on the south side of Spring Garden.
The restrictions, which are being put in place for public safety and convenience, will be in place for up to eight weeks. The work being carried out is a continuation of the current works, following a two week break for the contractor during Trades Fortnight.
There will be no restrictions in place on George Street during Trades Fortnight.
