City libraries launch new online reservation service

A new service has been launched which will enable users of Aberdeen City Councils library service to make reservations for items online using the library catalogue.
The new service will allow borrowers to request books, cds and dvds via the internet without having to visit or phone their local library making the council run service accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Please note the following charges apply to online reservations.
Adult borrower 50p per item
Concession 20p per item
Childrens items Free (Please note that adult charges apply to over 12s borrowing adult items)
Library members can also use their laptops to gain free, fast broadband connections to the internet at Aberdeen Central Library and Aberdeen Art Gallery. Aberdeen Central Librarys Media Centre now offers free Wi-Fi connection, to all visitors over the age of 16.
This means that you could access the internet, in the Librarys friendly internet café environment. If you are looking for an alternative place to study, the WiFi service is also available at Aberdeen Art Gallerys McBey Reference Library.
