Family Information Service
25/08/08
Aberdeen City Councils Family Information Unit has launched Scotlands first one-stop information web site.
Parents, carers and professionals can now access a comprehensive range of information on all services for children, young people and families.
Information on nurseries, schools, childcare, holiday activities and family services is just a click away.
Family Information Service Manager Caroline Anderson said: We are the only authority in Scotland offering this great resource for parents and carers who may want information on activities for them to attend with their children, out of school care, holiday play schemes and childminders.
In addition to this there is information on more specialised family support such as bereavement counselling, advocacy, parenting workshops and mental health.
The website directory is one of many initiatives that will support the council's integration strategy and provide all professionals with the tools to get it right for every child.
To start using the site simply log on to - www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/fis.
The FIS team will continue to provide a telephone helpline between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday on 01224 443344.
If you have any queries regarding this, or any other news story, please contact Aberdeen City Council on: 01224 522000.
