City looking blooming marvellous as judging kicks off

Judges for the Communities in Bloom International Challenge will be in Aberdeen this week to assess various classes in the contest.
The city of Aberdeen in participating in the challenge along with Brampton, Toronto, Prince George, British Colombia, and Strathcona in Canada, and Stockton-on-Tees in England.
The community of Dyce is taking part in the Communities in Bloom Friends category along with several Canadian communities.
The Communities in Bloom judges Rick DeVan, senior operations advisor of Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, and Bob Ivison, director of Ivison Consulting Limited, Hoddesdon, England will evaluate the City of Aberdeen on Wednesday, 23 July, and evaluate Dyce on Thursday, 24 July.
The International Challenge is a competitive category between past winners from various national programs: Communities in Bloom, Britain in Bloom, America in Bloom, and the Tidy Towns of Ireland.
The results will be announced in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, on 20 September at the annual Communities in Bloom Symposium on Parks and Grounds and awards ceremony.
