06/08/08
The City Councils Bands in the Park programme continues this Sunday, 10 August at 2pm at both the Duthie Park and Hazlehead Park in Aberdeen.
The programme will continue throughout the summer on most weekends at the parks until Sunday, 24 August.
Whether it is the sound of the pipes or brass bands everyone is welcome to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the citys wonderful Duthie Park and Hazlehead Park.
The entertainment is free and starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm so bring a picnic and something to sit on and unwind in two of the citys splendid parks.
Hazlehead Park, which was originally part of the freedom lands granted to the city in 1319. It is on the outskirts of Aberdeen and is popular with sports enthusiasts, walkers, naturalists, and picnickers and has restaurant and toilet facilities.
Duthie Park, which was donated to the city by Miss Duthie in 1880 and opened to the public in 1883 hence it celebrates its 125th anniversary this year.
