The challenges and opportunities of offshore windfarm development in maritime regions;
Aberdeens proposed offshore windfarms developments;
Sustainable energy policy;
Whether carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced without hampering the accessibility of peripheral maritime regions;

Aberdeen City Council Leader Kate Dean, the councils representative on the CPMR said: We are happy to welcome the delegates to Aberdeen. Theyre coming to look at what weve been doing in terms of renewable energy and how we are encouraging Aberdeens workforce to diversify from oil and gas to renewables.
It was agreed at the last general assembly of the CPMR that Aberdeen is to host the 2010 General Assembly.
Lord Provost Peter Stephen said: It is encouraging that so many energy-related events are taking place in Aberdeen. This reflects the citys strong standing in the industry.
Year on year we are seeing increasing numbers of visitors coming to Aberdeen for the All Energy Conference and we expect even more people attending the event in May.
Events like the CPMR workshop taking place this week play an essential part in helping to forge links in the business community and to further increase Aberdeens standing in the energy industry.
