City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10k Race 2010 and Fun Run

The City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10k and Fun Run is a well established 10k race in Aberdeen and for many runners the highlight of their running season. The course is based around Aberdeen Cities Beach and Harbour area and has some spectacular views of the North Sea and the famous Beach Ballroom on the route of the course.
There are 3 races that take place:
- Wheelchair Race
- Ten Kilometre Race
- Family Fun Run
The Baker Hughes 10k attracts all types of entries, from the serious runners who are in it to win it, to the Corporate Group who enter to raise money for charity or simply the person who wants to use the event as motivation to get fit, the Baker Hughes has them all.
- Free t-shirt to all 10k race entrants
- Limited entry to 4000 - apply early to avoid disappointment
- Scottish Athletics permit event
- No 10k entries on the day
The 10k organising team would like to take this opportunity to invite you to take part in this years event. Whether you are a regular competitor, somebody who has run the event before, but not for a while, or a person who has thought about it but never got around to it.
If you fall into any of the above categories, we would welcome you to take part in this year's well established City event.
You could either run for yourself and your own sense of achievement, or for Charity. If you have not considered running for a Charity, why not run for one of the 8 Charities involved in this years event, or a Charity that may be close to you and help them raise some money on behalf of your efforts.
If you are planning to take part or are thinking about entering, why not persuade family, friends or work colleagues to take part with you. You can remind them of that New Year's resolution they made to get fitter in 2010.
The run will be officially launched on the second week of February, this is when details of how to enter will be released and the application process becomes live.
There is also the Fun Run, this is an opportunity for all the family to be involved. The Fun Run is a short route (750 Metres approx), starting beside the official starting line and finishing at the official 10k finish line.
Entries for the Fun Run are taken on the day.
Start training for the City of Aberdeen, Baker Hughes 10K and Fun Run now and enter when the applications are invited in February.
